There have unfortunately been five major oil spills that has occurred in Alberta, Canada. The five locations that the oil spill has occurred is Little Buffalo, Red Deer River, Slave Lake, Elk Point, and Red Earth Creek. It was the April, 2011 when at least 4.5 million liters of of crude oil leaked near the first nations community Little Buffalo area. This was in the northwest parts of Alberta and this was the largest oil spill in 35 years. When this oil spill occurred this ruined many habitats especially the beaver habitats which are the ponds. The consequences of the oil spill didn't just affect the animals and habitats but the government and the pipe line owners that caused the oil spill. They were charged with three counts of violating protection laws which cost the company a lot of money and oil. The next oil spill occurred in Alberta at the Red Deer River. This oil spill happened at Alberta's central river system. This was on June, 2012. There was almost half a million liters of sour crude oil which leaked into the into a creek that eventually flowed into the Red Deer River. The company that caused the oil leak with two counts of violating environmental laws. They were then fined $1.3 million in June of 2014 after being guilty of the charges for not just one but two spills. This spill affected air quality because of the amount of oil that has been released also this affected the drinking water because Alberta gets there water from bodies of water like this. The major affect is the ecosystems. This is because the oil can ruin habitats and kill animals which overall ruins food chains and everything could spiral down fairly quickly. The third spill happens in Salve Lake. This occurred caused by an above ground pipe failure. This released 70,000 liters of oil and chemical filled water. This wasn't a major leakage which means it didn't really affect the ecosystems and people. But if this did it would affect those things I mentioned. The oil company was not fined. This happen on April of 2014. The fourth oil spill occurred happen at Elk point A pipeline flange gasket failed at an En bridge pumping station northeast of Edmonton and spilled about 230,000 liters of crude oil on June 2012. Thankfully there was no impact to wild life or water, But if this did then this would have a terrible threat. Surprisingly the was the third largest main pipeline oil spill in the with in the span of a month in Alberta. The final major oil spill at Red Earth Creek was caused by a Canadian Natural Resources-owned pipeline. This spilled into muskeg in northern Alberta. Around 60,000 liters of crude oil leaked on November of 2014, and hydrogen sulfide gas were also detected along with the crude oil. This was caused because the pipe line experienced a mechanical malfunction/failure. Gladly this oil spill didn't affect any wild life/ecosystems and had no impact on human activity.

The green house gases that are emitted into the earths atmosphere has a very big impact on our earth and on the way we live our everyday lives. We have many factories and farms in Canada, they emit a lot of gases which creates pollution and climate change. This is a very serious problem because when there is climate change parts of the world like the North and South pole are melting which creates a rising sea level as well. All of this ruins food chains and puts many animals endangered. Greenhouse gases have far-ranging environmental and health effects as well. They use climate by trapping heat, and they also contribute to respiratory disease from smog and air pollution. Extreme weather, food supply disruptions, and increased wildfires are other effects of climate change caused by greenhouse gases. Another way Canada affects the air pollution is the production of methane gas in Alberta. This happens because they produce a lot of beef. This causes many cows to be around and when many cows pass gas they release methane, enough methane to be measured in the air. When that happens the methane creates more heat and that adds on to the climate change.
You'd think pooping and farting humor stops after the age of 6, but not in the Spanish region of Catalonia. The humor lives on in the form of a character called Caga Tio, which means pooping log. Basically, Spanish children will feed the log in hopes that it'll grow bigger.
Meanwhile, parents will swap the log for bigger logs, and on Christmas Day, the family gathers round to sing it songs to help it defecate presents! Map Action is a great organization which informs you of many important things when disasters occur. This information that they find about the disasters they out on maps that they show to agencies governments and local partners to notify them to bring help, aid and emergency supplies to the right place immediately. This is important because this industry Map Action saves many lives and undercover many problems in these disasters which can save many more lives and fix many problems.
Plastic in bodies of water has been a major problem in our society. This has ruined many animal habitats and has been killing many animals that could one day lead them to extinction. This also pollutes the water which is not just bad for animals but for our water. We should take action quickly before we loose to many water wild life and water. We could do this by recycling properly and not thorough out our garbage/littering. Global warming also known as climate change has had a huge impact in how we live today, and it has effected our world in several ways. One of the most devastating outcomes to this is rising sea level. This is when large bodies of water like oceans expand and rise caused by the melting of ice sheets and ice glaciers. The ice sheets and glaciers are melting at a very high rate, this causes rising sea level. The glaciers are melting at a very high rate because we are releasing bad gases and fossil fuels into the air and there all reflecting off the earths Ozone which hits the glaciers and increasing the melting process. All of that raises the melting line. This is bad because rising sea level causes devastating effects on coastal habitats. Farther inland, it can cause destructive erosion, wetland flooding, aquifer and agricultural soil contamination with salt, and lost habitat for fish, birds, and plants. This will all effect the food chains and business in the food industry. Many habitats and animals will slowly extinct as well. So overall climate change is effecting us in many ways and we need to change this. In the future when were adults we could take action and slow the rising sea levels down and the melting of the ice glaciers. All we would have to try shutting down Cole implants, try using electric cars, use renewable energy and many more. We could make a difference and we should start now before its too late.
Transit is a great and cheap way of transportation, and luckily Toronto has a very good transit score at 78. This means that their transit system is excellent and its the most convenient way of travelling in Toronto. Also Toronto transit is ranked at the third best out of 70 U.S and Canadian cities and first in Canada. The Toronto subway is a rapid transit system serving Toronto and the neighbouring city of Vaughan in Ontario, Canada, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission. It is a multimodal rail network consisting of three heavy-capacity rail lines operating mostly underground and one elevated medium-capacity rail line. The Toronto streetcar system is a network of ten streetcar routes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission also known as the TTC. It is the second busiest light-rail system in North America. The network is concentrated primarily in Downtown Toronto and in proximity to the city's waterfront. The Toronto Transit Commission uses buses and other vehicles for public transportation. The TTC has more than 172 bus routes in operation, and served over 487 million riders each year in 2011. Those are the three sorces of public transportation in Toronto and were lucky to have it!
I think that the modern urban planning of the ancient times are better than the present times. I think this because, back then the cities where designed so the citizens could walk to everything. There were churches, food stores, clothing stores, banks,ETC just a walking distance away. The average walking speed is 5 km per hour and the it would approximately take 30 minutes to travel around the city and get all the daily essentials. Usually in the ancient times they made the church in the center of the city and every store is 2 km away from it in every direction. I also think this was a great idea because since everything is so close it encourages people to walk, and walking is great for the citizens health. This also helps the citizens interact with people, because when their walking outside doing their errands they could meet new people and create new friendships. This is whats missing in our society, other people interacting with each-other this causes many problems like depression.
